I have two degrees in English Literature and I can deconstruct a novel with no problem. But there's not much call for that in my everyday life :) But, to be fair, I took the degrees for myself and not towards a career.

I've worked in universities and watched students spend years working on a degree in a subject they don't even like because they think they should.
