You're right. They're just belongings. When we moved years ago I found a huge black sack of photos from when my daughters were young and we had a wonderful afternoon looking through them. And then I put the bag in the hall - alongside the black bags that were going to the tip. And, you guessed it, I took the lot to the tip and lost them forever.

Gutting. But the girls the photos were of were still with me.
