Well done. I'm guessing, in your case, it isn't the amount of thoughts you have but that you're setting off a familiar neural pathway, or thought worm, and noticing the same type of thought. So, when you get into this type of overthinking, allow yourself to direct your thoughts to something else. Keep doing this until the original pathway fades away.
